Apple accidentally announces iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus via own website

In news that will shock no one, nowhere, Apple's next two phones will be named the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
I know, I know. I hope you were sitting down.
Apple's own website listed the two unannounced phones earlier today, before they were taken down again (thanks, Reddit).
The company will officially reveal its new handsets at an iPhone conference this evening, which starts at 6pm UK time. But the website listing apparently suggested what previous rumours had touted, and many had feared - Apple has indeed dropped the 3.5mm headphone jack.

Apple's site detailed the smartphones as only offering Airplay, Bluetooth or wireless music connectivity, unlike existing models.

For those who do still want to use wired headphones (yes!), an adaptor which plugs into the Lightning charger socket has long been rumoured. The question, of course, is how much this will cost.

BBC has a roundup of all the other iPhone 7 and 7 Plus reports so far, but all point to handsets with fairly minor upgrades from iPhone 6S.

A better camera and slightly larger screen have, as always, both been touted. Perhaps Apple is saving its truly revolutionary features for announcement next year - the iPhone's 10th anniversary.
