Gucci to launch mobile shopping in Asia Pacific

Gucci, one of the world’s leading luxury fashion brands, is pleased to announce the optimization of Gucci.com for mobile devices. Now available in North America and Europe, the House’s mobile website will launch in the Asia Pacific region this spring. The mobile website was created in response to the growing demand for access to Gucci’s luxury products on mobile devices and allows customers to easily browse and purchase Gucci products, whenever and wherever they choose. The move reflects the growing use of mobile devices by luxury clients as well as Gucci’s increasing investment in digital marketing and e-commerce.
The new mobile gucci.com was designed to deliver the same high-end brand experience that customers know and love from shopping in Gucci stores to smartphones that have become an essential part of their everyday lives, and an increasingly essential part of how they shop.
“Gucci has always prided itself on providing customers with unparalleled shopping experiences, whether in our stores or online. Based on the rapid growth we have seen in mobile purchases it was important for us to create the kind of luxury experience in mobile that we are known for in the industry and that our customers expect from us,” said Gucci President and CEO Patrizio di Marco.
Since the initial U.S. launch in December, conversion rates have increased by over 70% and revenue grew almost four times year over year. The mobile site already accounts for 27% of the total traffic and 13% of total revenue.
Gucci.com operates its e-commerce site in 27 countries but this is the brand’s first website specifically optimized for mobile. Customers in the U.S. and Europe who visit Gucci.com on a mobile device will automatically see the new mobile site.
Gucci’s digital teams in Florence and New York collaborated with Brooklyn-based website development agency Huge to create the new mobile site, which is optimized for iOS and Android mobile browsers, the most commonly used devices by Gucci customers.

Highest online viewer’s to-date for MBFW show

Rightster and IMG Fashion unveiled that this season’s live stream of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Fall 2013 Collections at Lincoln Center reached the largest internet audience ever, demonstrating deep engagement with American designers’ runway shows around the world.
The online audience viewing live streamed runway shows increased by more than 170% over the September 2012 event, marking the largest audience reached in the five seasons runway shows from Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week have been available via live stream.
Mobile view rates were twice the industry average of 12%, with 24% of views occurring on mobile devices. Collectively, viewers watched more than nine years of runway show video during the eight days of the event and the average viewing time was around 12 minutes during live shows, demonstrating that viewers stayed to watch runway shows in their entirety.
Charlie Muirhead, Founder and CEO, Rightster, comments: “Interest in what American designers are showing on the runway is growing exponentially both domestically and abroad, and this is clearly evident when we look at our viewing statistics season after season. With this digital platform, Rightster and IMG Fashion are able to offer brands a solution to make their fashion association even more powerful against a highly desirable demographic.”
Muirhead continues: “We tracked viewing times upwards of twelve minutes, bringing huge consumer engagement opportunities for fashion brands. It’s an incredibly powerful platform and the designers and brands involved in the event were excited by the findings.”
“IMG Fashion is dedicated to providing solutions for designers to help them ultimately reach a greater audience of their consumers,” says Peter Levy, SVP and Managing Director, IMG Fashion Worldwide Events and Properties.
“Rightster gives media an easily accessible tool that provides their followers convenient access to more live designer runway shows and on demand content than ever before. The number of fashion-conscious consumers that are seeing the Collections on the runway at the same time as the buyers and journalists in the front row is an incredible benefit to the designers showing at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.”
Rightster’s technology allows online fashion and style-relevant media, blogs and websites to easily embed a video player on their site with a simple code. For the first time, viewer data was collected from more than 200 websites that hosted the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week live stream, unlocking key learnings about the US audience.
The campaign uncovered that the primarily female online viewing audience of the designer runway shows is younger than the average US internet user, with the female 18-24 year old demographic over-indexed by over 123% and those in the 25-34 year old demographic by an astounding 150%. More than 50% of all female viewers were under the age of 34.
The campaign also uncovered a broad ethnic diversity of the viewing audience, African-American, Asian and Hispanic viewers over-indexed by 49%, 53% and 50% respectively. The typical live stream viewer is college educated with no children at home.
This is the second season that Rightster has been the live stream partner of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week to increase the reach of designer’s runway shows through a network of relevant blogs, websites and platforms.

Ring the ankle: Givenchy Spring        2012 review

Givenchy Spring 2012 Ready-to-WearThe super-tight pants shown at Givenchy could have    been mistaken for tights, save for the flare just above the ankle. Riccardo Tisci said he was inspired by surfers and mermaids for spring. As regards to the surfer theme, the pants were fitting, giving that they looked like wet suits. What Tisci showed was somewhat refreshing: a print-free collection(he tackled prints last season). For this season, he decided to zero in on suit tailoring. Could a suit be soft, yet strong? Casual, yet, dressy? Sexy, yet, non-vulgar? In Tisci’s hands, yes would be the answer to all three questions. For one thing, the pale but feminine colors helped. For another, the fabrics he used weren’t traditional suit fabrics, cut so intricately so that its peplum and lapel were melded into a metaphorical fin hybrid, trimmed in sequins, shark or eel skin. So says the genius of Riccardo Tisci. Perfect.

Look of the Day photo | You Can Do: False Lashes

You Can Do: False Lashes

Long, full lashes open up your eyes and add instant dimension to your face. Megan Fox and Carrie Underwood, seen here are batting falsies that highlight their features on the red carpet. While everyone wants lush lashes, it’s one beauty statement our readers find the most difficult to pull off. And which type...Singles? Full strips? Read on for all the information you’ll ever need.

Look of the Day photo | The Basic Tips

Look of the Day photo | The Basic Products

The Basic Tips

• Start by separating your own lashes slightly by applying a lightweight mascara.
• Handle individuals with a slanted tip tweezer dab on a pinhead of glue. Gently tap lash to your palm to remove any excess glue. then allow adhesive to partially dry by fanning for 5 seconds.
• Position false lashes at the roots of your natural ones. Apply from outer eye, three quarters of the way to the center of eye.

The Basic Products

• Strips or individuals are a personal choice. If you use one long strip, follow the same instructions and just layer across the lash line.
• It’s important that lash glue be clear when drying.
• If you’d like lashes to be a more natural length trim, them with manicure scissors,  but remember: trim them before they’re on your eyes.

It’s too complicated.

Solution: We know applying falsies can seem intimidating, so start by using just a few singles at the very outer corners of your eyes. It will still add Eva Longoria-esque drama to your eye makeup and once you’ve mastered those, start adding more!

Look of the Day photo | I’m afraid they’ll fall off.

I’m afraid they’ll fall off.

Solution: By now everyone’s heard of pricey lash extensions at salons. We’ve found long-lasting extensions you can do at home. These lash strips are actually placed beneath your lashes right on your lash line with super strong adhesive glue for a natural look that lasts up to seven days.

I’m afraid of damaging my lashes.

Solution: If you apply faux lashes often it’s important to treat yourself with a lash conditioner. Made from natural ingredients like St. John's wort and witch hazel, longer, darker lashes appear with continued use. The unique applicator allows you to sweep the solution on like mascara, then brush it on along your upper lash line with the foam tip. Also, a lot of damage happens in the removal. When it’s time to take off your makeup apply either Vaseline or baby oil and rub eyes gently until lash glue dissolves and lashes are safely removed.

RUNWAY LOOKS WE LOVE

Fashion Week, Carolina Herrera

Runway Looks We Love: Carolina Herrera

From the first pluck of the violin, it was clear that Carolina Herrera was putting on an opulent show for fall.
The symphony of rich fabrics like fur, silk, sequins, and velvet—both accenting the designs and worn head-to-toe—was made all the more lavish with bold jewel tones, including sapphire, plum, and (of course!) Pantone’s Color of the Year, emerald. The womanly designer wrapped up the collection with waist-cinching belts and what else: bows!

10 WARDROBE ESSENTIALS

Adding any one of these 10 versatile closet all-stars will take your outfit to new heights of fabulousness. From a white tuxedo jacket to statement heels, click through to see the pieces you'll want to help you stand out this spring.

Look of the Day photo | White Tuxedo Jacket

White Tuxedo Jacket

It stands out in a sea of traditionally neutral blazers (you've already got navy or black down). And unlike its more predictable cousins, a white jacket can do fancy (lightly tossed over the shoulders of an evening gown) as easily as it can go casual—with jeans and a T.

Look of the Day photo | Vibrant Scarf

Vibrant Scarf

Instead of a necklace, try a soft loop of bright fabric to perk up a mundane outfit instantly. It's a fun and simple way to mix prints. Wrap it once or twice around your neck, letting both ends hang loose.

Look of the Day photo | Studded Flats

Studded Flats

If you have a glamorous event and your feet are begging for a break from stilettos, slip into some decorated flats like the ones shown here. This contrast of edgy and feminine suits cocktail dresses, of course, plus flirty skirts and dark trousers.

Look of the Day photo | Polka-Dot Blouse

Polka-Dot Blouse

Punch up your office wear or faded denim with this snappy classic. Reveal a little (top it with a crewneck sweater so only your collar shows) or a lot—untucked and flowy over white jeans or a solid navy or gray skirt.

Look of the Day photo | Embellished Coat

Embellished Coat

There's hardly an ensemble that can't be upgraded by the addition of this exciting spin on the traditional balmacaan—a silhouette that looks good on every figure. Pair it with capri pants, colored jeans, a striped mini, or even your favorite LBD.

Look of the Day photo | Eye-Catching Heels

Eye-Catching Heels

Make your outfit interesting from the front and back. This vivid design allows you to color-block with clothing in everything from silver or white to cobalt, orange, or yellow.

Look of the Day photo | Bold Cuff

Bold Cuff

Decorating your wrist with one of these clean, modern shapes elevates your total look. Make a splash with clothes that have short or ¾-length sleeves—or clasp it over a long-sleeve blouse.

Look of the Day photo | Pleated SkirtPleated Skirt

When so many options for your bottom half are solid basics, kicky printed pleats are unexpected. With this drop-waist silhouette, you don't need to worry that you'll be adding volume to your middle. Try it on with a T or tank in white, gray, or black, and finish with a denim jacket.

Look of the Day photo | Statement Necklace

Statement Necklace

Not as over-the-top as last season's versions, this new incarnation combines darkened metal with glitz and a bit of color for results that don't seem wildly out of place during office hours.

Look of the Day photo | Bright Bag

Bright Bag

A sleek, colorful purse will complement neutrals, brights, or pastels. Just don't match it with clothing in the exact same shade. (Go for versatility: This one converts to a clutch!)

If your wardrobe has got this, you have found your way to 'WOW' :)
