THE DEATH OF AN ICON

Prof. Chinua Achebe is dead. One of the best fiction writers in recent  memory, he was one of the world's most celebrated writers and author of the classic novel 'Things Fall Apart'.

Prof. Achebe  the David and Mariana Fisher professor of Literature at Brown university died last night in a hospital in Boston, Massachusetts; his USA base.

He was 82, having been born on November 16,1930, and has been hospitalized in recent days. His ailment remained undisclosed.
