You have to spend more to remove Saraki – Obasanjo tells Buhari

Details of what was discussed during the meeting between former President, Olusegun Obasanjo and President Muhammdu Buhari have emerged.
Recall that the Obasanjo on Monday had a meeting with the President behind closed-doors at the Presidential villa, Abuja.

The meeting was reported to have concentrated on how to strategies towards dislodging corrupt elements from the National Assembly.

Obasanjo allegedly stated that with a corrupt leadership led by the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, at the National Assembly, Buhari’s anti-graft war cannot achieved the desired result, SaharaReporters reports.

The report quoted a source from the Presidency as stating that the ex-President advised Buhari to outspend Saraki in order to remove him from the National Assembly.

Buhari however reiterated his resolve to see that corrupt lawmakers are prosecuted.

He was said to have reckoned that the Judiciary has been compromised, citing instances where judges have been compromised in ongoing cases.

The report also claimed that Buhari claimed that Saraki was an ambitious man who aspires to become President, adding that he would do all possible to prosecute him.
