‘I don’t know her!’: Mariah Carey continues to shade JLo

Appearing on Watch What Happens Live, host Andy Cohen brought up the glorious time Mariah blanked JLo when she was asked by a reporter what she thought of theWaiting For Tonight singer. It happened years ago, but it’s still extremely satisfying today.
And while Mimi is sick of the story being brought up, she refuses to just admit she knows Lopez.
“Do you know her?” Cohen asked point blank.

“No!” Mariah yelled. “OK, I’m very forgetful — apparently, apparently, I’mforgetful. Because I don’t remember the fact that it was just like, ‘Hi, I’m so-and-so’ and then move on,” she said explaining the brief moment she perhaps, at some point, maybe met her competition.

“If I had never had a conversation with you and someone asked me about you I’d be like, ‘I don’t know him but he seems cool’, or ‘I don’t know him’.




Then Cohen asked her if she thinks JLo is cool.

She paused.

“ ... I don’t know her!” she maintained. “What am I supposed to say? I’m not gonna put on a thing like, ‘We’re all Hollywood and let’s just all pretend we’re best friends’. It’s no offence to anybody. The question was about Beyonce and I was saying I think she’s super talented, she’s a friend of mine, she’s always been sweet to me, she’s always been very cool. And then they ask me another question and I was just like, ‘I don’t know her’. It wasn’t like I don’t know who she is, of course I do. That’s not the question.”





Her thinking was the same when asked about Nicki Minaj during the program’s Plead The Fifth segment.

Mariah was asked to say three nice things about Minaj, who she had a notoriously rocky relationship with while they were both judges on American Idol.

Again, she paused.

“You know, I always felt it was more important with that situation to not plead the fifth but to just stay above the fray because you don’t want to be déclassé, you just want to move it along,” she said.

The 46-year-old fiancee of James Packer was also asked about her upcoming wedding to the Aussie billionaire and if prenuptial agreements will be involved.

She quoted Kanye West’s song Gold Digger: “We want prenup! We want prenup!”

She also slammed reports their wedding was turning into a circus.

“No, that really made me mad. These people really want to tell me I want endangered animals at my wedding?” she said. “I mean, I have several dogs. I’m such an animal lover and such an advocate for animals that I’m like, really, that’s what I’m going to do, have like endangered species? Should I make coats from them all? What else should we do?”
