The Lagos State Government has indicated plans to relocate renown IT business hub, computer village to Kantagowa market, in Agbado Oke Odo council area, before the end of the year.

Mr. Wasiu Anifowoshe, Lagos State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban development made this known at a ministerial press briefing at the state secretariat in Alausa. He observed that the project was conceived by the former Governor, Babatunde Fashola’s administration, but was not executed.

According to the Commissioner, “the Urban Development project on the front burner of the state’s agenda is the development of Katangowa Market in Agbado/Oke-Odo Local Council Development Area. Similarly, he noted that the government has planned to replicate the popular food commodity market, Mile 12 market, in other regions of the state in no distant time, to prevent the entire population of ‘Lagosians’ heading in the same direction.

He reiterated the commitment of the State Governor, Akinwumi Ambode, to zero tolerance on building collapse with a call on the public to inform the ministry on illegal citing of petrol station in residential areas for prompt action to safeguard lives and property of residents in that community.

The state has also announced the creation of online platforms for seamless application and processing of building permits. “In order to keep up with the pace of transformation in service delivery and e-governance policy as well as embracing global best practices in the way of doing business, I am happy to introduce the e-Planning Permit platform to you which would accelerate Planning Permit processing in the State. With this development, application for planning permit can now be made on-line by the professionals and members of the public irrespective of their location“, he said.
