Abuja Landlord Arraigned for Breaking into Tenant’s Apartment, Stealing N 45,000

Yesterday, a 50-year-old landlord was arraigned by the Police in a Lugbe Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja, for allegedly removing the roof of his tenants’ apartment and stealing N45,000 from another tenant.

Vanguard reports that the landlord identified as Solomon Kudu is facing a two-count charge of mischief and theft preferred against him by police. The Prosecuting Counsel, Ukoha Ndidi, told the court that the landlord had intentionally removed the rooftop of his tenant’s apartment while they were not at home. She also stated that the suspect had broken into the apartment of another tenant, making away with the sum of N45,000.


Mr. Kudu, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges and he was granted bail by the presiding officer in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties each in like sum.

The case has been adjourned till August 31 for hearing.
