Look Thinner By Tonight!

Wear Skinny Heels with Pointy Toes

Legs look slim and sexy in skirts paired with a shoe that has a tapered toe and at least a 2-inch stiletto. A slender toe and thin heel work to extend the narrow silhouette of calves. Square-toe styles with a thick, chunky heel give the appearance of a shorter, bulky leg.

Show Some Skin Up Top

Expose a bit with a V-neckline. The open, upside-down triangle creates a high focal point up and away from your midsection and gives the illusion of a longer, slimmer upper body. The more skin displayed between chin and chest (within reason!), the more elegant your proportions will seem overall; wider V-necklines visually balance broad hips and thighs. So collect Vs in everything—camis, tanks, Ts, sweaters, cardigans, dresses and jackets.

Embrace Shapewear

Get pieces that smooth bulges while lifting breasts and the behind. Shapers with extra-firm tummy control work well worn under shifts and pencil skirts.

Stick with One Hue

Tops and bottoms of the same color create an uninterrupted vertical line, making you look thinner and taller. Stark contrasts between your upper and lower body draw eyes to your middle.

Faux-Tan

A salon spray tan or a do-it-yourself kit blends in blemishes (veins, cellulite, stretch marks, brown spots) that distract from the clean visual lines of exposed arms or legs. Don't want to go faux? All skin tones benefit from moisturizing lotion, which diminishes those imperfections and projects a head-to-toe glow.

Use Jewelry Strategically

Long necklaces add length to a short neck and bring attention away from hips and to the front and center of your body. Mid-chest bibs or big chandeliers say look at the face and not the middle. Sparkly cuffs, stacks of bangles, and cocktail rings draw the eye to wrists instead of upper arms.

Match Your Shoe Color to Your Leg

Coordinate tones to elongate your bottom half. In winter, wear black opaque tights and black pumps; in summer, try neutral skin-hued versions with bare legs.

Wear Hair Up and Off Your Face

Pull tresses into a ponytail high on the back of your head and then lightly tease at the crown to bring out your bone structure and make your face look thinner.

Pick Simple, Unadorned Denim

Clean, streamlined jeans are the way to go. The most flattering styles are dark and feature unembellished pockets. Avoid extra details that catch the eye and give the illusion of bulk—think twice about tags, grommets, or decorative extras. The leanest silhouettes of all: boot cut and straight leg.

Invest in Underwear That Fits

A professional bra fitter can determine if you, like most women, are wearing a wrong-size band and too-small cups, which neither lift nor shape. Down below, too-snug panties create bulges, while visible panty lines (VPLS) disrupt the clean lines of top layers, contributing to bulk around the butt and hips. Get a smooth rear view with thongs or G-strings. For more backside coverage, consider seamless tangas or cheekies.

Sport a Jacket Over Jeans

The crisp straight lines and narrow lapels of a blazer counteract excess curves. An open jacket is extra-slimming worn over V-neck tanks and dark-wash jeans.

Choose the Right Fabrics

• "Flat" materials don't add volume. Pick cotton, denim, silk, or wool gabardine.

• Some fabrics actually help slim and shape. Try jersey, cashmere, fine cotton, and anything with a touch of spandex.

• Wear bulky materials sparingly, such as wide-wale corduroy, crushed velvet, metallic, leather, suede, mohair, angora, brocade, taffeta, bouclé, satin, fringe and flannel.

NEW YOU: 20 Fresh way to WOW...

Color-block bright separates

What makes watermelon, one of the season’s hot hues, even punchier? Pairing it with super-hot pink. Or go all blue with a turquoise T and cobalt skinnies.

Rev up lips with oxblood red

Trade in your classic cherry pink lipstick for a burgundy shade. If you have pale skin, choose a rouge color with cool, blue undertones; opt for a warm, brown-based one if you have a deeper or olive complexion. Paint it on with a fine-tip makeup brush, blotting between coats for a long-lasting stain.

Sport a varsity jacket

Designers gave this ’80s throwback both luxe and street-smart treatments for fall. But whether you go for a velvety version or a leather one, you can combine it with everything from shorts and boots to skinny jeans and flats.

Pull on tights with sandals

It’s both practical and eye-popping. Get more life out of your sandals with black tights, which look so cool with bright strappy shoes. Or mix patterned legwear, like the clashy ones at Rochas, with a tweedy pencil skirt and neutral heels. Just stick to hemlines that hit above the knee to keep it fresh, not frumpy.

Bump your hair into a bouffant

Voluminous ’60s updos were towering over the runways. To get high and mighty, tease at roots to build major body, then create a deep side part. Next, gather hair into a messy bun in the back, leaving height around the crown. Smooth
hair in front, and mist with hairspray.

Belt it out

For a simple way to define your waist when you’re wearing a voluminous skirt or flowy top, wrap a Japanese-inspired obi belt around your middle. Let it stand out by keeping the rest of your accessories on the subtle side: Think a slim headband or minimal jewelry and a clutch.

Strap on your purse

The cross-body bag is still huge for fall, a trend we love, as it takes zero effort and scores you mega style points. Structured ones from Tommy Hilfiger were particularly eye-catching.

Go on, blush!

You might think pink is only for spring, but it looks current in everything from swing coats to ladylike dresses. Why not push it by slicking on a lipstick shade in a pink that’s richer and deeper than what you’re wearing?

Do a double cat eye

Draw across your lids with a black liner from the inner to outer corners, flicking up the tip to finish. Then trace on a parallel line, slightly above the first.

Clip some cute “baby bangs”

Not into shaggy, hang-in-your-eyes strands? Hello, little-Dutch-boy fringe. Have your stylist trim bangs 2 to 3 inches above your brows, and comb in a gel to nix frizziness.

Wrap a scarf under your blazer

The French have elaborate techniques for knotting a scarf, but we prefer this très facile trend. Loop a silky square or rectangle around your neck, and tuck it loosely into the lapels. Or tie it high, and let the tails hang down to show off a bold pattern.

Wear your jacket like a cape

It can look put together—a boxy jacket paired over a sheer blouse—or sweet and casual, like Alexa Chung who wore a men’s blazer she borrowed from a pal to keep warm. It’s an insouciant mix of masculine and feminine pieces.

Slick your hair waaay to the side

For bangs that stay put in a sleek style like Rooney Mara’s, make a deep part, blow-dry with a paddle brush, and pat on gel to seal in shine and eliminate flyaways.

Roll out a retro updo

First, apply mousse for grip. Part your hair on the side, then split it into two sections. Twist strands back from temples to nape, pinning in place as you go. When you reach the back, cross over twists, and tuck and pin ends under.

Work the LBD: Little Blue Dress

This azure hue is the new basic when it comes to slinky cocktail looks. Beauty tip: Vivid blues look especially striking against darker skin.

Stagger your sleeves

This genius styling move looks casually chic and will keep you cozy. Put a turtleneck under a top or let your textured sweater peek out from a three-quarter-sleeve coat. I love the contrast.

Leave your shirt half untucked

Popping it out on the side gets you an edgy effect that says you’re not trying too hard (and yes, it covers your butt).

Reach for statement specs

Don’t call ’em nerdy! These dark-framed glasses are stylishly smart, especially with seductive red lips.

Embellish your lapel

Designers went deliriously mad for menswear this season. Play up your work blazer or a somber coat with an intriguing accent on the lapel: a two-toned pocket square or a floral pin that puts a femme twist on the tailored trend.

Try out this styles and have everyone capture and compare you to your dream star!

Chris Brown & Frank Ocean Huge Fight at Recording Studio
Chris Brown & Frank Ocean
HUGE FIGHT
At Recording Studio
Exclusive
Chris Brown was involved in a fight with Frank Ocean

Cops say they will continue to investigate and want to speak with Chris Brown.  They refer to Ocean as "the victim" because he's the one who stuck around and spoke with police.  Ocean said the fight started over a parking space (how L.A.) and Brown punched him.  There were 6 people involved in the fight
Police have cleared the scene. We're told Chris Brown was not there when officers arrived -- but they did speak to Frank Ocean. At this point ... we're told no one wants to press charges, and no arrests have been made.

Chris Brown
was involved in an all-out brawl with Frank Ocean Sunday night, and sources connected with Chris insist Ocean started it.

Chris was at Westlake Studio in the L.A. area listening to one of the artists he represents.  The sources say as Chris went to leave, Frank Ocean and his crew blocked Chris from leaving. The sources say Frank said, "This is my studio, this is my parking spot."

We're told Chris went to shake Frank's hand ... and that's when one of Frank's people attacked Chris.  Sources connected with Chris say one of Chris' friends jumped in front and hit Frank's friend.

Sources connected with Chris say Frank then came at Chris ... Chris pushed him away and they started brawling.

The police were called and are on scene now.

photo chrisfrankddd_zps2f1ca5ef.jpg Forget "No Parking On The Dance Floor" now there's no parking at the studio as a big misunderstanding in an LA parking lot put both Chris Brown and Frank Ocean in the middle of a six-man fight. Deets inside...
Chris Brown might have been one of the few artists to speak "out" nicely about Frank Ocean's "coming out" a few months ago, but no kind words were spoken yesterday in LA as the two men and their crews engaged in a nasty parking lot battle.
Though sources from both sides insist the "other" group started the fight, TMZ reports that Chris and his crew were leaving (or trying to leave) Westlake Studio when they were "blocked" by Frank and his friends. Allegedly, Frank (who's performing at the 2013 Grammys) said, "This is my studio, this is my parking spot."
One report says Chris tried to shake Frank's hand but someone from Frank's crew hit Chris. From there, one of Chris' friends responded by hitting the guy that attacked Chris and a fight between all of the men jumped off. During the brawl, Frank allegedly came at Chris and Chris responded by pushing him away.
At least that's one way the story has been told....
Though we're sure Chris will say Frank started it and vice versa, LAPD is calling Frank "the victim" because he's the one who stayed around to talk to the cops (Chris left the scene).
As of now, no charges have been filed and there were no arrests...but the cops would like to talk to Chris.
SMH....And you might recall what happened the last time cops "talked" to Chris before the 2009 Grammys....
Though both artists are infamous for their Twitter rants, only Frank has spoken up about the fight where he says it will impact his Grammy performance.

So if you don't enjoy Frank Ocean's instrumentation at the 2013 Grammys....you have Chris Brown to blame.

Replenish Your Look And You

Replenish Your Look And You

Find Your Perfect Pink

Unsure of which pink is best for you? Just smile; your perfect shade is about the same color as your gums—no lighter.
Simple fashion wonders....

For that perfect smoky eye effect....

Follow These Simple Tips

1. Use a medium-size round brush to apply charcoal gray powder in an arch shape just above the crease of the lid. Then blend down to the lash line.
2. Trace the upper lash line with a soft black pencil, then gently smudge with your fingertip.
3. With a smaller, firm-bristle brush, press a gunmetal shade into the lower lash line.
4. Apply a pale silver powder to the inner corners of the eyes to lighten the overall effect.
5. Pile on mascara.
You are good to go!

Red lipstick even you can wear....

EXPERT TIPIf you've got light hair and skin, go for a true red, what exactly is a true red? It's got just the teeniest bit of blue in it. That hint of coolness will help downplay any ruddiness in your skin.

EXPERT TIP
With light hair and skin that has a little more color in it, you can really get away with a broader range of reds. It's really your personal choice of how dramatic you're feeling—try orangey hues or ones that are more purple."

EXPERT TIPIf you've got light hair and darker skin, try an orange-red. The warm undertones of the color make your skin look glowy and more golden.

EXPERT TIP
People always tell redheads not to wear red, but the way I see it is that you already have a dramatic look, so you might as well just go with it. Look for corals or orange-reds. Most redheads have soft pink undertones in their skin, so reds that lean towards the rosy side look really modern and unexpected.

EXPERT TIP
With light skin and dark hair, the eyebrows already add a little weight to the face, so you can get really dramatic. Look for deep cherry reds with cool undertones or burgundy hues, but skip orange-red: "It could clash with your skin."

EXPERT TIP
With dark hair and medium skin, because there's less differentiation between your hair and skin color, bold shades won't look as shocking.  I like a blue-based, true red. "But play with a berry shade if you want to go darker. It can be really gorgeous."

EXPERT TIP
With dark hair and dark skin. I like a tomato red with yellow undertones. That extra depth adds a little light, so that you don't just have one flat field of color on your lips.

Boots rolls-out colour matching skin tones from X-Rite

January 28, 2013 (Switzerland)

Boots UK has begun offering in 668 stores a new service that accurately measures colour values of customers’ skin with a specially designed X-Rite instrument, then identifies the closest colour match amongst the No7 Foundation collection.
More than 1,000 No7 advisors have been trained to carry out the No7 Foundation Match Made Service, which uses a handheld X-Rite spectro colourimeter to identify the colour of a customer's skin, then precisely targets the closest matches among 17 colours of No7 foundations across a number of formats.  Boots is the UK’s leading pharmacy-led health and beauty retailer with close to 2,500 stores across the UK, and X-Rite Incorporated is the world's leading designer and manufacturer of colour management solutions and parent company of Pantone LLC.
The No7 Foundation Match Made Service is the result of more than three years of research and development by Boots UK.  The research included the measurement of skin tones of over 2,000 British women to create a whole new shade palette of skin-true foundation shades unique to No7.
"Our researchers found that 78 percent of women in the UK said they would change their foundation if they could find a better match," said Joanne Watson, Innovation Technologist, Boots UK.  "Our customers who have used the No7 Foundation Match Made Service say it delivers on providing accurate, better matches.  They are very, very satisfied with the results."
Watson said that early trials of the system showed that women appreciated the experience of having their skin tones measured with a sensitive instrument that could give more accurate and objective colour readings, no longer relying on in-store lighting conditions.  The device shows a digital photo of a person's skin, and the foundation colour that is the closest match.
Boots UK selected the device from X-Rite because it provided a robust method of colour measurement and was easy for advisors to use and keep on their person, Watson said.
Matthew Adby, Product/Market Manager for X-Rite, who oversaw the European introduction of the device, said X-Rite engineers customised aspects of the device's firmware to handle some of the unique challenges of measuring a person's skin accurately.  He said they had to take into consideration the translucent nature of skin, its texture and variations in colour in a small measurement area.
The device employs proprietary camera technology that illuminates the skin from three different directions while simultaneously recording 27 colour-accurate images within 2 seconds, eliminating the shadows and interference inherent to textured surfaces.  With 8 different visible illuminations and 1 ultraviolet illumination, the instrument is able to more accurately define the location of a skin tone in colour space than traditional colourimeters that typically have only three illuminations of red, green and blue light.
"Using an instrument of this quality really resonates with our customers," Watson said.  "It takes the guesswork out of trying to find a shade since there is so much choice in the market now.  They particularly like that the Match Made device has its own internal light source, so the lighting in the store doesn't impact the way the shade is selected."
Sales advisors like the Match Made device's compact size and the fact that it is light weight too allows them to wear the instrument around their necks if they wish.  The device is powered by a lithium ion battery that lasts through a whole day of measuring customers before it needs recharging.
"Personalization is the future of cosmetics," Adby said.  "People are embracing the use of technology to help them to decide easily what cosmetic they want from today's many choices."  Some cosmetics manufacturers have used instrumentation on a large scale to check person's skin hydration, but this is the largest single rollout of a system checking skin tones, he said.
Vijay Subramaniam, Head of Marketing for X-Rite South Asia said ‘’This could be a huge opportunity for the domestic cosmetics brands vying for significant product differentiation for their brands in a crowded market place. Ánd X-Rite Pantone would now bring this solution to India as well About X-Rite
X-Rite, Incorporated, is the global leader in colour science and technology. The company, which now includes colour industry leader Pantone, develops, manufactures, markets and supports innovative colour solutions through measurement systems, software, colour standards and services.
