Naomie Harris, the British actress who starred in the latest 007 James Bond flick ‘Skyfall’, will be donning this year’s winning design of ‘Red Carpet Green Dress’ competition at the forthcoming 85th Oscar Academy Awards, scheduled to take place on February 24, 2013.
Designed by Michael Badger, a Ghanaian born fashion student at Atlanta’s Savannah College of Art & Design, the eco-friendly winning creation has been developed at Vivienne Westwood’s London-based studio, where the veteran British designer along with her team of couturiers has personally mentored Badger.
Started by environmental advocate Suzy Amis Cameron, wife of famous film director James Cameron, the Red Carpet Green Dress is an international dress design competition which invites designers from across the world to create an Oscar worthy sustainable dress.
At the 84th Academy Awards function, Missi Pyle, star of Oscar winning movie ‘The Artist’, wore the last year contest’s winning ensemble, which was a flowing blue gown made from organic and peace silk, hand-dyed with natural mineral pigments and lined with recycled polyester.
