Seasoned & emerging designers shine on day-1 at Montreal

The opening day of the Canadian fashion fest Montreal Fashion Week saw an array of exquisite fall winter 2013/14 collections by a bunch of extremely talented seasoned as well as emerging designers.

Canada-born fashion designer Natasha Thomas presented the latest line of her clothing label ‘By Thomas’. The 12-piece collection included cream sleeved vintage minks in textured wool and several autumnal coats accentuated with frills, double lapels and leathery-look embossed cotton in shades of burgundy, rosy gold and dusty rose.

The next in line was the innovative designer of Iranian origin Pedram Karimi. Meant specifically for good-looking women and flamboyant men, his streetwear-inspired collection featured tunics, coats, wide shorts and anoraks made of aqua laser quilted nylon, spandex, crushed silk velvet and neoprene fabrics.

Montreal-based Mélissa Nepton showcased a cosy, comfortable and simple clothing line, which included sweatshirt dresses, scrunched dhotis, big collared sweaters and swingy shawl coats.

Designer Nadya Toto featured a heavy on lace and flowery prints collection. The line offered pencil skirts, body-hugging dresses, peplums and fringed boleros.
