Man Shot and Killed While Playing Pokemon Go

A young man was killed this weekend in San Francisco while he was reportedly playing Pokemon Go. GameSpot sister site CBS San Francisco reports that 20-year-old Calvin Riley from San Mateo was shot in the chest in the popular tourist location of Aquatic Park near Ghirardelli Square.

Authorities responded to a call just before 10 PM on Saturday night when they found Riley; first aid was given to the man, but he died, police said.

As of Sunday, investigators are attempting to understand who was behind the killing and their motive. Riley's family set up a GoFundMe page, where they wrote that he was the victim of a random shooting.

The GoFundMe page has raised more than $36,500 of its $40,000 goal as of Monday morning. The money will go toward covering funeral expenses, according to the description.

Riley's family moved from Massachusetts to the Bay Area. He was a star baseball player in high school, going on to play at San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton, California. His baseball coach told CBS San Francisco that Riley was in the wrong place at the wrong time when he was killed.
