Rio 2016 Olympics: Controversy over wrong National Anthem played for Nigeria [VIDEO]

Nigerians have lambasted the organizing committee of 2016 Olympics, currently taking place in Rio, Brazil for playing a wrong National Anthem for the West African country during the match between the Dream Team and Japan, Friday morning.
Meanwhile, the organizing committee has not come out to explain or tender apology over the mix up.

However, some Nigerians believe that the error might not be unconnected with the late arrival of the players to the city before the match.

Reacting to the drama, one Cynthia said, “It would have been better if they played Fela’s song or Sunny Obe’s hit song than switching to a Venezuelan crap.”

Another disappointed fan, Man Sam said, “When ambassadorial nominees can’t recite the national anthem or pledge na Rio want get am?”

Another online fan said, “I heard they won the match. If the wrong national anthem connotes winning then, no problem. Besides, who the national anthem don epp?”
