Sasha Obama serving up fish at unglamorous summer job

While Malia Obama has been having a ball at the Lollapalooza music festival, younger sister Sasha has been partaking in a different teen summer rite of passage, working a job slinging hash at a seafood restaurant on Martha’s Vineyard, Mass.
Sasha’s been working a morning shift at the fried-fish joint that ends around 11:30 a.m. — with Secret Service agents in tow, according to the Boston Herald.

“We were wondering why there were six people helping this girl, but then we found out who it was,” an employee said.



Sasha, 15, has been going by her full name, Natasha, and working the takeout counter, busing tables and prepping for the lunch rush at the Oak Bluffs restaurant Nancy’s.

The eatery serves fried clams and oysters, fish and chips, plus a menu of Middle Eastern dishes. It is apparently a favorite of the Obamas during their annual summer visit to the island.

The first family is getting ready to start a vacation there next week, and we’re told Sasha won’t be expected to serve seafood.

Meanwhile, Martha’s Vineyard residents are gossiping that Sasha’s less-than-glamorous summer job may have been some kind of “punishment,” or even “a humbling real-life experience.”

Last summer, Malia, 18, who wants to be a filmmaker, went to work on the set of “Girls” with Lena Dunham. The White House didn’t get back to us.
