Aisha Buhari Donates Food To Less Privileged In Kogi‎

Mrs Buhari made the donation on Tuesday in Lokoja, where she was represented by Mrs Maryam Ibrahim and the wife of the Kogi State Governor, Mrs Rashida Bello.

She said the gesture, which benefited the physically challenged, widows and displaced persons amongst others, was aimed at cushioning the present hardship experienced by the downtrodden.

‎The President’s wife added that the plight of the widows and less privileged ones in the society remained a serious concern, hence the need for the support.


“This is part of my contributions to nation building. We cannot pretend that these set of people don’t exist in our society.

“We have carried out this same gesture in other states of the federation, because the essence of living is to be our brothers’ keeper.

“So, these materials are just my token gesture to assist those who are in dire need of help in our country,” she said.

Mrs Buhari also used the medium to appeal to the people of the state to support the All Progressives Congress-led administration to deliver the dividends of democracy, urging the populace to remain peaceful at all times.

In her remarks, Mrs Bello commended the gesture, saying that she was also committed to improving the lives of widows and the less privileged in the society.‎

She similarly called on the women in Kogi State to lend their supports and prayers for the President’s family.
