EFCC Probes Osun LG Funds, Grills Perm Sec, Others

Furtherance to the investigation into the alleged diversion of 30 Local Government’s monthly allocations by the Osun State Governor, Mr Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola, the Permanent Secretary and a Deputy Director, Account, in the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Messrs Mufutau Oluwadare and Adewale Ibrahim reported at the EFCC Ibadan Zonal office today, June 14, 2016 for interrogation. In the same vein, the protem Chairman of the Governing Council, Osun State College of Education, Ila-Orangun , Mr. Oyeniyi Akande, and some principal officer of the institution also reported at the Economic and Financial Crimes (EFCC), Ibadan office, yesterday for interrogation in an alleged case of abuse of office and diversion of public funds reported against him and other staff of the institution.

They were later released on administrative bail after hours of questioning. Sources at the Commission indicated that the investigation will be expanded to include members of the institution’s Governing Council.
