This followed a two-day protest by staff of the ministry over the non-payment of their Special Overtime Allowance which according to them is about N1.2bn.
Adeosun who had stayed away from the ministry’s headquarters, arrived at about 8am with her convoy amid tight security.
Prior to her arrival, over 70 security personnel from the Nigerian Police Force were stationed at strategic locations both within and outside the premises of the ministry in a bid to forestall break down of law and order and to prevent any possible attack on the minister.
Recall that workers of the Ministry had prevented the Minister from gaining access into the ministry while pushing for their demands.
The aggrieved workers on siting her entourage this morning barricaded the main entrance into the Ministry and started shouting “Adeosun must go, she must go,” “We want change, give us change,” among others.
The irate workers insisted that the Minister address their plights right at the gate before she could be allowed into the complex.
