Look Out, Taylor: Kanye to Release ‘Famous’ Video During Live-Streamed Event

Kanye West can’t just release a video like your standard international rap star. No. He’s got to do it when the cameras are rolling, and they will be tomorrow night at an event that will be live-streamed on Tidal. Yes, now he’s throwing parties for his videos.

It’s for the song “Famous” off his latest album The Life of Pablo, which has already distinguished itself for its ability to anger Taylor Swift with a lyric that just might be about her: “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that bitch famous.” The lines not only caused backlash from Swift whose publicist says permission to use her name was declined, but also the internet, which called out the word “bitch” as misogynist. (Bitch, Kanye responded, is a term of endearment.)

There is one person who is not angry, though. Kim Kardashian. In a new interview with GQ, she said Taylor did gave Kanye her blessing to use her name (though to be fair, he doesn’t need it). “She totally approved that” lyric, Kardashian said. “She totally knew that that was coming out. She wanted to all of a sudden act like she didn’t. I swear, my husband gets so much shit for things [when] he really was doing proper protocol and even called to get it approved. What rapper would call a girl that he was rapping a line about to get approval?”
