Police arrest suspected killer of Catholic Priest

Detectives of Nigeria Police Force attached to Benue State Com­mand have arrested a suspect in connection with the killing of the Catholic Priest in charge of Otukpo Diocese, the late Fr John Adeyi.
The state Commissioner of Police, Paul Okafor, disclosed this in Abuja, yesterday.
It would be recalled that the Priest was kidnapped and after close to two months, residents of Otukpa community were last Wednesday thrown into shocks when they saw the de­caying body of the kidnapped clergy.

According to the police Chief, “The situation is that when I assumed office few days ago, I tried to find out about that matter and I am impressed so far. Yesterday, we discovered those that are be­ing suspected within the cau­cus of that church.
“As at yesterday night, some­body has just been picked up. I want to make sure I have con­crete evidence before I bring an update on the information.”
