Rihanna Releases New 'Star Trek Beyond' Theme Song 'Sledgehammer'

Rihanna is continuing her 2016 reign with the release of a new song for one of this summer's most anticipated blockbuster films.
"Sledgehammer" is Riri's contribution to the upcoming Star Trek Beyond film, which features a star-studded cast including Idris Elba, Zoe Saldana and Chris Pine, among others. First heard in the movie's recently-released third trailer, "Sledgehammer" is now available for streaming on Tidal and Spotify, just under a month before the film is scheduled to hit theaters.




Rihanna took to her Instagram page to announce the news on Monday afternoon.

Although the song is not currently included on the track list for the official soundtrack, the superstar songstress described the tune as the film's "theme song" and also revealed that fans can purchase it on iTunes in her celebratory IG post.
