Ugandan Soldier Kills 3 Children and 4 Women During Domestic Dispute With His Wife

Today, a military officer in Uganda opened fire and killed four women and three children during a domestic altercation with his wife at the Makindye barracks in Kampala, and he eventually was shot dead later during a shoot out with other military officers.

According to Daily Mail, the news was first shared on social media by a military spokesman Paddy Ankunda who tweeted that “Sergeant Isaac Obua has just gone bonkers“.

The deaths were later confirmed by a solder who spoke to the capital’s TV station, stating that Obua was part of the military medical team and had been trying to attack his wife “under the influence of alcohol and possibly marijuana“.

“Fortunately the wife escaped but those who were within proximity of the scene fell victim,” the soldier added.

Another officer Capt. Edward Birundi confirmed that Obua’s wife was also a soldier. The duo had a domestic dispute, and when he couldn’t find her, he began shooting on rampage.

“He had problems with his wife,” Birundi said. “He wanted to kill his wife.”

Daily mail says that this is not the first time a soldier would be opening fire on civilians. In April 2014, another soldier in the western Ugandan district of Ntoroko opened fire on 10 people, killing them. The dead included 5 of his colleagues. He eventually shot himself, and this was after a quarrel over a woman at a local bar.
