26-year-old man allegedly impregnates teenage sister in Lagos

One Oriade Rotimi has been accused of putting his 16-year-old sister in the family way in Lagos State.
The duo reportedly resides in the same room apartment at Shibiri, in Ajagbandi area of the state.

The teenager said she lives with her elder brother and that he was responsible for her pregnancy.




The pregnancy alleged to be about four months old was noticed by women in the residence, after they saw the teenager vomiting severally and confronted her with questions at the weekend.

One Clifford Amechi, a neighbour, told the Punch that a woman in the compound identified as Mama Amarachi, called the girl on Saturday and advised her to tell the truth so they would know how to help her condition and that the young lady opened up, revealing it was her elder brother, Rotimi who put her in the family way.

The girl explained that her brother was usually jealous if he sees her with any boy, adding that she was afraid of her brother because he usually threatened her, warning that he did not want to see her with any man.

“One day, he made love to her and since then, he continued to do it until she became pregnant,” Amechi said.


Meanwhile, the victim said she didn’t tell him she was pregnant.

But on his part, Rotimi reportedly swore he was not responsible.

He denied making love to his sister, insisting that it was because of his high handedness over his sister that she pointed accusing finger at him.

He described the allegation as a blatant lie.

Confirming the incident on Wednesday, the state Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, DPPRO, DSP Damasus Ozoani, said the suspect has been invited for interrogations and will be charged to court soon.
