Nigeria’s biggest hope of securing athletics medal at the ongoing Rio 2016 Olympic Games was dashed as sprint queen, Blessing Okagbare, crashed out in the 100m women’s first semi-finals, as she came 3rd with a time of 11.09 seconds.
Jamaican Shelly Ann Fraizer-Pryce emerged winner with the record of 10.88 seconds, while Jamaican Elaine Thompson, came third.
Three Jamaicans and two Americans made it to the finals of the 100m race.
