3-yr-old Boy dies after getting trapped in hot Car

A three-year-old boy has died after he was found in a hot car outside his family's home in northern Houston. Houston fire spokesman Ruy Lozano says the Evan Trapolino's heart stopped beating after he was found in the car about 2 p.m. Thursday.
He was taken to Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital, where he died shortly after arriving.

Investigators say it's unclear how the boy came to be in the Volkswagen Passat parked in the front yard.

However, investigators say little Evan managed to open the front door to the house and then got inside the car and crawled in the back seat.

He was unable to get out due to the car's child locks. Investigators are still trying to figure out why he got in the car, but said he could have been looking for a toy.

A neighbor, Chris Johnson, tells Click2Houston Chronicle that the child may have wandered from the family home and was playing outside when he ended up in the car and that the community is taking the loss hard.
