The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu will today, Moday, June 20, be arraigned before the Federal High Court, Abuja.

Kanu who is standing trial for treasonable felony arrived the court for continuation of his ongoing trial in handcuffs and was led in by prison officials.


Kanu was arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS) on October 18, 2015 on his arrival to Lagos, Nigeria from the United Kingdom. He was later granted bail although he is still being held by the DSS. He was alleged to have made threats against the federal government of Nigeria.

He is currently under detention at the Kuje prison pending the conclusion of a criminal trial instituted against him.
